Here are some things you might find interesting about me!
My first name is Melodie but most people call me by my middle name, Dawn.
I was introduced to Southern Gospel music when I was a little girl and my dad would sing at churches, prisons, and other places. My mom, older sister, and I started singing with my dad when I was still quite young. Eventually my two younger sisters joined in too and we sang at churches all over Western Canada, and a little in the United States. We sang together till we were all grown up. After my dad passed away in 2005, my mom, sisters and I still sang (and sing) together whenever possible.
I have gone to the Stamps/Baxter school of Music in Nashville three times and the Elijah Conference, also in Nashville, once so far.
My husband, Kent, and I have been married for 18 years. He is a farmer and enjoys making 1/64th scale custom tractors, trucks, trailers, and anything else he can imagine up. In my eyes he is a genius and can figure anything out in any situation. You need something fixed? Call my husband!
Kent and I have three glorious children, Tiffany, Kyle, and Benjamin. They are our three favorite gifts from God!
My heart's desire is to follow God wherever He wants me to go and to know Him so intimately that I feel like I might actually know Him.
I spent the last 4 years with a group called The Banksons from Alberta and even though I will miss it deeply I am so UNBELIEVEABLY excited to get going and find out where in the world God is taking me now back to being on my own music ministry!
